Police Inspector interdicted over allegations of defiling 14-year-old daughter
The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has interdicted Inspector Desmond Owusu Afriyie, stationed at Mamponteng, following allegations of defilement and incest involving his 14-year-old daughter.
The investigation began after a complaint was filed on November 4, 2025, by Charlotte Samaa of Koforidua.
She alleged that her daughter had been sexually abused by the officer, who is the victim's biological father.
Following the report, the police referred the teenager to a government health facility for a medical examination.
Inspector Afriyie reported to the Agona District Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) on February 20, 2026.
He was arrested and cautioned but denied the allegations. He was subsequently released on enquiry bail with a requirement to report periodically.
The police statement confirmed that the inspector is now interdicted to allow for further investigation.
The Regional Police Command assured the public that a thorough inquiry is underway and that updates will be provided as the case develops.
