Police arrest man for threatening security personnel in viral video
The Ghana Police Service has arrested Opoku Emmanuel for allegedly threatening Police and Military personnel in a video circulated on social media.
The arrest was executed on Thursday, May 7, 2026, by the Inspector-General of Police’s Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) in collaboration with officers in Jacobu, Ashanti Region.
The suspect, who appeared masked in the footage, reportedly incited violence and warned security officials against arresting armed robbers, threatening to kill any officer who engaged him during operations.
Opoku Emmanuel is currently in custody in the Amansie Central District assisting with investigations and is expected to be arraigned before court.
