Samuel Opoku arrested again in Toronto following alleged sexual assaults
Samuel Opoku, the 30-year-old Ghanaian man who gained international notoriety for a series of fecal attacks in Toronto in 2019, has been arrested again.
According to reports from the New York Post and Canadian media, Opoku was arrested on May 12 and charged with two counts of sexual assault and indecent exposure following two separate incidents in Toronto.
The New Allegations
Police report that the alleged incidents involved strangers and resulted in no physical injuries:
- May 9 Incident: Opoku allegedly approached a group of women walking on a sidewalk, made sexual advances, grabbed one woman by the forearm, and sexually assaulted her before fleeing.
- May 10 Incident: Opoku allegedly followed a woman into a commercial office building, approached her from behind, and sexually assaulted her before escaping.
Connection to 2019 "Fecal Attacks"
Court records confirm that Opoku is the same individual responsible for a four-day string of attacks in November 2019, where buckets of liquid human waste were thrown at five unsuspecting victims — including a young girl — at locations such as the University of Toronto and the John P. Robarts Library.
Following his 2019 arrest, Opoku was charged with multiple counts of assault with a weapon and mischief. His defense lawyer argued he was suffering from mental health challenges, and Opoku was released on bail after three weeks in custody. The final legal outcome of the 2019 case remains unclear.
Public Impact
The original 2019 incidents deeply shocked the public and later inspired a 2024 independent film titled “The Pee Pee Poo Poo Man.” His recent arrest has renewed public discussions in Toronto surrounding public safety, mental health, and homelessness.
The investigation into the new sexual assault allegations is currently ongoing.
