Labone old students association launches logo ahead of this year’s celebration.
The Labone Old Students Association (LOSA) decade year groups ending in six, popularly known as De Big 6, have officially unveiled their logo ahead of this year’s Labone Senior High School Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony.
The logo was unveiled during a short but significant ceremony held at the La Palm Beach Hotel in Accra on Saturday, June 27, 2026, marking the beginning of activities leading to the school’s flagship annual event.
Addressing members, President Listowel Agbeli called for a renewed approach to alumni engagement, urging old students to look beyond past experiences and focus on supporting the growth and development of their alma mater.
He noted that while some alumni may have unpleasant memories of certain teachers or administrators, those individuals eventually leave the institution, whereas students remain lifelong stakeholders of the school.
Mr Agbeli therefore encouraged members to rise above past grievances and actively contribute to the school’s progress.
The ceremony’s highlight was the official unveiling of the De Big 6 logo, followed by a ceremonial cake-cutting led by the President and supported by distinguished members of the association.
Speaking on behalf of the organising committee, Chairperson Millicent Adjei urged members to participate fully in the series of activities lined up ahead of the Speech and Prize-Giving Ceremony. These include Blema Jams, a beach party, a health walk, the main Speech and Prize-Giving Day, and a thanksgiving service.
She also appealed to members to contribute towards the refurbishment of the school’s dining hall, which has been selected as the group’s legacy project.
Adding her voice, Ms. Norley Ashitey of the LOSA 1971 year group expressed excitement about reconnecting with fellow alumni and proposed that individual year groups be levied to support the dining hall refurbishment initiative.
