Ministry of Education assures parents of swift resolution to school placement challenges

The Ministry of Education has assured parents experiencing challenges with the ongoing school placement exercise that their concerns will be addressed quickly and effectively.
On Tuesday, September 23, scores of frustrated parents thronged the GNAT Hall in Accra, which has been designated as a resolution centre for placement issues.
Long queues and delays in service delivery have heightened tensions among guardians seeking redress for their wards.
The Ministry’s Media Relations Officer, Hashmin Mohammed, emphasised that additional measures have been rolled out to ease congestion and improve response times.
“We have been able to decongest the crowd because we have deployed more personnel to listen and resolve their concerns. Going forward, we will attend to issues with greater speed.
Once parents are satisfied, we will not see such large crowds here,” he said.
Mr. Mohammed added that the Ministry is carefully studying this year’s process in order to implement a more coordinated and efficient system in the future.
He also noted that while the option of postponing the reopening date of schools remains on the table, such a decision will only be taken if absolutely necessary by higher authorities.
“Going online also presents its own challenges.
However, based on the lessons we have gathered this year, we are hopeful that next year’s placement exercise will be smoother, with fewer challenges and less congestion,” he assured.
