Rosemond Wilson appointed new head of WAEC Ghana

Dr. Rosemond Wilson has been named the new Head of the Ghana National Office of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

She succeeds Mrs. Wendy E. Addy-Lamptey, who has retired.

The announcement was made in a statement released by WAEC in Accra on Wednesday, July 17.

The statement highlighted Dr. Wilson’s extensive experience and expertise in assessment, gained over her 27-year tenure with WAEC, which began in September 1997. Before her current appointment, Dr. Wilson served as the acting Head of the Test Development Division at WAEC.

Her professional journey began in the early 1990s, with roles as an Elective Mathematics tutor at Baidoo Bonsoe Senior High Technical School and later at Tarkwa Senior High School, both in the Western Region, Ghana.

She started from humble beginnings as an officer with the Records and Aptitude Test Department and later as a Subject Officer for Mathematics.

Over the past decade, Dr. (Mrs.) Rosemond Wilson has held significant leadership and managerial positions in the Council, including headship of the Mathematics Section, Post Examinations Department, and the Test Development Division (TDD).
