SIC Insurance donates teaching aids to UHAS to enhance learning
SIC Insurance Company Limited has donated a range of teaching and learning materials to the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS) in Ho to support quality education delivery.
The donation, led by the Managing Director of SIC, Mr. James Agyenim-Boateng, included two 75-inch Samsung televisions, five projectors, and four printers to facilitate effective teaching and learning at the university.
The gesture forms part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives aimed at strengthening Ghana’s educational sector.
Speaking at a brief handing-over ceremony, Mr. Agyenim-Boateng said the donation underscores SIC’s commitment to promoting quality education and supporting institutions that are training the nation’s future health professionals.
“We see this as part of our responsibility to contribute meaningfully to education and national development,” he noted, assuring the university of SIC’s continued partnership in future development projects.
This is not the first time SIC has extended support to UHAS.
Two years ago, the company provided two pergolas, wash basins, and seating facilities to enhance student comfort on campus.
Receiving the items on behalf of the university, the Registrar of UHAS, Ms. Yaa Amankwaa Opuni, expressed profound gratitude to SIC Insurance for the timely support.
She indicated that the equipment would significantly improve teaching and administrative work at a time when the university is in urgent need of such resources.
Ms. Opuni further appealed to SIC, the government, and other corporate bodies to assist the university in addressing critical infrastructure needs, including hostel facilities, a modern library, and improvements to the campus road network.
She emphasised that sustained partnerships between the private sector and educational institutions are essential to advancing quality tertiary education in Ghana.
