TEIN UCC marks 30th anniversary, encourages student leadership and national development
The Tertiary Education Institutions Network of the University of Cape Coast (TEIN-UCC) has celebrated its maiden 30th anniversary, bringing together party members, student leaders, and stakeholders to reflect on the organisation's contribution to student leadership and political participation.
Speaking at the event, TEIN-UCC President, Benjamin Amexo Dagbe, said the organisation has played a key role in student mobilisation and supporting the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Central Region. He noted that student involvement in leadership and politics contributes positively to decision-making and national development.
Central Regional Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC, Ebenezer Abeiku Essien, urged young people to embrace leadership opportunities, stating that empowering the youth helps them develop their potential and prepare for future responsibilities.
Representing the National Chairman of the NDC, National Vice Chairman Lawyer Rauf Halid described TEIN as an important grassroots mobilisation platform that helps strengthen the party's membership base on university campuses.
He encouraged students to actively participate in leadership and party activities, stressing that such involvement can contribute to national development while creating opportunities for recognition and growth.
The event highlighted the role of student leadership in governance, political participation, and nation-building.
