B/R: 6 firemen crushed while responding to road crash
The Dormaa Pierce Fire Engine in the Bono Region has been involved in a road crash.
The incident occurred when the fire engine was responding to an accident call involving a cargo truck and a tricycle on the main Dormaa-Berekum road on Tuesday, 27 September 2022.
The fire engine somersaulted and landed on its roof.
A statement issued by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) said: “The riding crew of six who got injured were rescued and are now responding to treatment at the Dormaa Presbyterian Hospital.”
The GNFS assured the general public of its “continuous service delivery in the Dormaa Municipality.”
It further wished the injured Firemen speedy recovery and assured them of “the best medical care to guarantee their quick and complete recovery.”
The immediate cause of the accident is not yet known.
