Eastern Regional YEA director orients 33 new district managers

The Eastern Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Mr. Atiga Foli, in collaboration with the Regional Youth Working Committee, has officially appointed and oriented 33 newly selected Municipal and District YEA Managers in a ceremony held in Koforidua.
Mr. Foli explained that the appointments and orientation were part of efforts to empower young people to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic transformation of the country, particularly in line with the “Resetting Ghana Agenda.”
He emphasised a strategic shift in the Agency’s focus from traditional modules that merely recycled unemployment to innovative self-employment models.
These include modules in trade, agriculture, vocational training, and job placements through public-private partnerships.
The YEA Director further indicated that the appointees would operate under a strict code of conduct initiated by President John Dramani Mahama.
This code, he said, would serve as a benchmark for professionalism, integrity, impartiality, incorruptibility, and respect in the discharge of their duties.
“All conduct must meet standards capable of withstanding the closest public scrutiny,” Mr. Foli stated.
He urged the appointees to avoid conflicts of interest, be humble, remain open to constructive criticism, and use respectful language even under provocation.
He also charged them to safeguard the reputation of their offices, avoid offensive behaviour, and uphold personal and professional dignity.
