The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) and commercial transport operators have announced a demonstration in Accra today, Tuesday, September 16, 2025, to demand the return of land at the CMB Lorry Station, which they allege has been unlawfully taken over by private businessmen.

In a statement signed by the National Public Relations Officer of GPRTU, Alhaji Abass Ibrahim Moro, the group said the protest would culminate in the presentation of a petition to the Presidency.

According to the statement, the demonstration is intended to draw national attention to what they describe as the unlawful occupation of their land and to compel government intervention in resolving the matter.

“We believe it is our right to have access to this land, and we will not be silenced,” the transport operators declared, while calling on all “well-meaning Ghanaians” to join and support their cause.

The leadership of the GPRTU and its allied commercial transport operators expressed confidence that collective action would ensure justice and safeguard their operations.
