Mahama, Energy Minister inspects deployment of transformers in Northern Ghana
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has joined John Dramani Mahama to inspect the deployment of distribution transformers in areas served by the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo).
The inspection forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the power distribution network across northern Ghana and address longstanding infrastructure challenges.
According to Dr. Jinapor, the intervention is aimed at easing pressure on the electricity network, improving voltage stability, and reducing the frequency of power outages in the affected regions.
He noted that the initiative reflects the government’s commitment to investing in the power distribution chain, which he said had suffered years of neglect.
The deployment of additional transformers is expected to enhance electricity supply reliability and support economic activities in communities within NEDCo’s operational areas.
He noted that the exercise is part of broader measures to improve energy delivery and ensure equitable access to stable power across the country.
