Vice President Opoku-Agyemang inaugurates three key projects at KNUST
Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang over the weekend inaugurated three major infrastructural projects at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening higher education and nurturing innovation.
The newly opened facilities include the KNUST Sourvenir Shop, a state-of-the-art Multipurpose Laboratory, and the KNUST Bottling Company.
The event was graced by the Chancellor of KNUST, His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and the Vice Chancellor, Prof Rita Dickson.
Addressing the gathering, the Vice President said the projects reflect the transformational impact that well-supported educational institutions can have on national development.
She noted that the initiatives would enhance teaching, learning, research, and entrepreneurship on campus.
“These projects are a testament to what becomes possible when our universities are encouraged to innovate and thrive. Government remains committed to equipping institutions like KNUST with the tools and infrastructure they need to drive national development,” she said.
Prof Opoku-Agyemang further highlighted the central role of higher education in promoting research, stimulating enterprise, and powering economic growth.
She urged the university to continue pursuing innovative solutions that address pressing national needs.
