Violence erupts in Nsawam Adoagyiri as rival ghetto groups clash

Tensions flared in Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency of the Eastern Region as violent clashes between rival Zongo ghetto groups led to widespread destruction of property and the death of one individual.
According to eyewitness accounts, the chaos stemmed from a longstanding feud between two ghetto factions in the area.
The confrontation escalated when a young man, reportedly a Muslim, was seriously injured during the altercation and later died from his injuries.
In retaliation, members of the deceased’s faction, believed to be from the Muslim community, stormed parts of Adoagyiri town, setting fire to shops, overturning stores, and vandalising vehicles and other properties.
Several businesses have been left in ruins, and residents are living in fear as tensions remain high.
Authorities are yet to make an official statement, but police have been deployed to restore calm in the area and prevent further violence.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Community leaders have called for restraint and urged residents to remain peaceful as efforts are made to address the root causes of the conflict.
