Volta Regional Minister inaugurates committee to probe Keta reclaimed land issues
The Volta Regional Minister, Mr. James Gunu, has inaugurated a seven-member committee to investigate concerns surrounding the Keta reclaimed land.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Gunu expressed disappointment over discrepancies between the official land layout and what currently exists on the ground.
He emphasised the need for a thorough investigation to uncover the causes of these irregularities.
The committee, chaired by Dr. Joe Attipoe, has been tasked with probing the activities of the Keta Municipal Assembly, stakeholders, and individuals involved in the land reclamation and allocation process.
Mr. Gunu called on residents of the Keta municipality to volunteer any relevant information to assist the committee in its work, assuring them that appropriate steps would be taken based on the findings.
Dr. Attipoe, in his remarks, pledged the committee’s commitment to conducting an impartial and diligent investigation, promising not to betray the trust placed in them.
The committee has been given one month to present its investigative report to the Regional Minister.
