Korle Bu reopens outpatient renal dialysis services
The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital has reopened the Outpatient Renal Dialysis effective immediately.
This was contained in a statement from the health facility.
The reopening according to the statement was made possible by the recent delivery of some quantity of the consumables, which were airlifted into the country on Monday.
The Renal Dialysis Unit has, therefore, already scheduled patients to start their dialysis sessions from today.
The statement further said apart from this emergency consignment, the Ministry of Finance has granted tax waiver to expedite the clearance of the second container at the Tema port and they anticipate receiving these additional supplies within the week, further strengthening the availability of the essential consumables.
The patients had planned demonstrating over the lack of comsumables and the closure of the unit.
