#2024Polls: Citizens of Akim Oda condemn Akwasi Acquah’s “Juju” comment
Concerned citizens of the Akim Oda Constituency in the Eastern region have expressed deep disappointment and dismay over recent comments made by their Member of Parliament, Alexander Akwasi Acquah.
During an appearance on Oyerepa TV, Mr Acquah claimed that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) won recent elections through "black power" or "juju." This utterance has sparked widespread outrage and ridicule in Akim Oda and across Ghana.
The people of Akim Oda feel disrespected by Mr. Acquah's comments.
His statements do not reflect the values and principles that their community holds dear.
The concerned citizens are urging Mr. Acquah to take immediate action to rectify the situation.
They are calling on Mr Acquah to issue a public apology to the people of Akim Oda and Ghana at large for such a comment.
They also want him to retract his statement and clarify that those comments were misguided and do not represent the views of their community. Furthermore, they are asking .Mr. Acquah recommits to upholding the values of their community by promoting respect, tolerance, and inclusivity in his public discourse.
The concerned citizens hope that Mr. Acquah will take their concerns seriously and take prompt action to address the issue.
