#2024Polls: NDC's elections director accuses EC of criminality
The Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dr Edward Omane Boamah has accused the Electoral Commission of Ghana (EC) of engaging in actions he described as criminal.
He alleged that the commission has allowed unsigned and unverified pink sheets to circulate, raising concerns about transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
In a strongly worded statement, he cautioned that the EC’s actions would not go unnoticed, warning of impending accountability.
"When a criminally minded Electoral Commission Ghana allows empty pink sheets to float freely, the day of accountability awaits them after January 7," he stated.
Pink sheets, which serve as official records of election results at polling stations, play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of Ghana’s elections.
The NDC’s allegation of unverified pink sheets raises serious concerns about the credibility of the process of collating results in some disputed Constituencies after the December 7 general elections and its potential implications for the results.
The Electoral Commission has not yet responded to these claims.
