Bryan Acheampong warns Adwoa Safo for crossing the line with comments about Kennedy Agyapong
Former Minister for Food and Agriculture, Bryan Acheampong, has expressed concern over recent comments made by former Dome-Kwabenya Member of Parliament, Sarah Adwoa Safo, regarding her former husband, Kennedy Agyapong.
Speaking on Good Evening Ghana, Bryan Acheampong said he wished Adwoa Safo had not made the comments, describing the issue as a private family matter that should not have been discussed publicly.
According to him, such matters require sensitivity, especially because children are involved.
“I honestly wish she had never made those comments. This is a family matter, and there are children involved,” he stated.
Bryan Acheampong acknowledged that relationships sometimes face challenges, but stressed that cultural values demand restraint and maturity when dealing with former partners in public.
He noted that Adwoa Safo had every right to support Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and even campaign for him if she wished.
However, he insisted that such political support did not require making comments against her former husband.
“She can support and campaign for Bawumia all she wants, but she didn’t have to make those comments against her ex-husband,” he said.
Bryan Acheampong further explained that Adwoa Safo has a home and children to manage, and that publicly addressing family issues does not benefit anyone.
“It doesn’t matter whether they are together or not. There are children between them, and Kennedy has not publicly done anything to her to deserve such a reaction,” he added.
He concluded by stating that, within Ghana’s cultural setting, the manner in which the comments were made crossed the line.
