Dec. 7 polls: Akua Donkor's Roman Fada disqualified; ballot printing to proceed unchanged
The Electoral Commission (EC) has disqualified the late Akua Donkor's running mate for the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Mr Phillip Appiah Kubi otherwise known as Roman Fada from contesting in the upcoming 2024 presidential election.
Despite his disqualification, the printing of presidential ballots will proceed without any changes, meaning the late Akua Donkor's image and party symbol will still appear on the ballot.
However, all votes cast in her name will be considered invalid and will not count toward the election outcome.
The EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, announced the disqualification at an emergency Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting held Tuesday morning, clarifying that the decision had been taken in line with the commission’s election regulations.
