According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition, the opening ceremony marks another significant milestone in the government’s ongoing efforts to expand access to reliable and affordable electricity under the National Electrification Scheme.
The initiative is expected to improve the quality of life in rural areas and stimulate inclusive economic growth across the country.
The event will bring together traditional authorities, opinion leaders, officials of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo), representatives of the Central Gonja District Assembly, and members of the beneficiary communities.
Ahead of the ceremony, Mr. Jinapor reaffirmed the government’s commitment to equitable energy access, highlighting electricity’s vital role in community transformation.
“Electricity is not just about lighting homes; it is about powering opportunity, driving enterprise, and transforming lives,” he stated.
“Through projects like this, we are delivering on our promise to make energy the bedrock of Ghana’s green and inclusive development.”
The Ministry underscored that the rural electrification initiative aligns with the government’s Green Transition Agenda, which aims to promote sustainable energy use and economic empowerment across all regions.
