Freddie Blay storms Ellembelle to support Bawumia
The National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who successfully led the party to two consecutive electoral victories in 2016 and 2020, has visited Ellembelle in the Western Region to rally support for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
The former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the NPP is seeking re-election to lead the party into the 2028 general election.
The Chairman’s visit forms part of a broader nationwide mobilisation effort aimed at consolidating support for Dr Bawumia ahead of the party’s upcoming presidential primaries scheduled for January 31, 2026.
His presence in Ellembelle, a constituency noted for its strategic political influence in the Western Region, was described by local executives as a strong show of unity and commitment to the Bawumia campaign.
Addressing party supporters, the National Chairman commended Dr Bawumia’s leadership, vision, and resilience, describing him as the right man to continue the NPP’s transformation agenda.
He emphasised the need for unity within the party, urging delegates to remain steadfast and focused on retaining power in 2028.
“Our collective strength lies in our unity and belief in the vision Dr Bawumia represents — one of innovation, progress, and opportunity for all,” he said.
Dr Bawumia, who served as Vice President from 2017 to 2025, has continued to campaign on a message of economic transformation, digitalisation, and inclusive growth.
His team has expressed confidence that the overwhelming support from grassroots members, regional leaders, and national executives — including the National Chairman’s endorsement — signals strong momentum ahead of the January 2026 primaries.
