The High Court (Criminal Division) has thrown out an application filed by former Finance Minister Kenneth Ofori-Atta, seeking to invalidate an arrest warrant issued against him by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

Mr. Ofori-Atta had challenged the legality of the warrant, claiming it was wrongfully obtained.

He also asked the court to strike out all associated processes, including the issuance of an Interpol Red Notice alert for his arrest.

But in a ruling delivered this morning, the court found no merit in the former minister’s arguments and dismissed the application in its entirety.

This decision clears the way for the Special Prosecutor’s office to continue its legal and investigative processes against Mr. Ofori-Atta.
