Kusaug MPs engage onion traders in Kasoa, pledge government support
The Majority Leader in Parliament, Mahama Ayariga, has led a delegation of Members of Parliament from Kusaug on a working visit to Kasoa in the Central Region to engage onion dealers operating at the town’s bustling onion market.
The visit brought the delegation into direct interaction with traders, many of whom hail from the Kusaug area and are actively involved in onion distribution alongside their business partners.
According to Mr. Ayariga, the engagement provided an opportunity to listen firsthand to the concerns of the traders, understand the challenges confronting their daily operations, and explore ways the government can offer the right support to improve their businesses and livelihoods.
He noted that market traders play a critical role in driving the local economy and must be supported through deliberate policies and targeted government interventions.
The Majority Leader stressed the need to leverage existing government support services and create new opportunities that would strengthen trading activities and boost incomes.
He reaffirmed his commitment to collaborating with stakeholders to identify practical and sustainable solutions aimed at enhancing operations at the market and improving the welfare of traders.
The visit forms part of broader efforts by the delegation to deepen engagement with constituents and industry players while promoting inclusive economic growth.
