Let’s all rise and rebuild for victory 2028 - Bawumia to NPP faithful

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, former Vice President and the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer in the 2024 elections, has called on party faithful to unite in rebuilding efforts ahead of the 2028 polls.
Speaking in the Volta Region on Thursday, May 8, as part of the NPP’s ongoing Thank You Tour, he emphasised that the foundations laid today will determine the party’s fortunes in four years’ time.
Reflecting on the lessons of the last election, Dr Bawumia acknowledged the disappointment of defeat but urged members not to dwell on past setbacks.
“We did not achieve the result we desired, but that is behind us now,” he said. “What matters is how we rise from this and strengthen our party’s structures at every level.”
He outlined concrete steps for revitalisation, including the establishment of robust constituency caucuses and the recruitment of new volunteers.
“We must rebuild our grassroots presence,” Dr Bawumia insisted.
“From regional executives down to polling-station agents, everyone has a role to play in restoring confidence among Ghanaians.”
Addressing supporters in Ho, he highlighted the strategic importance of the Volta Region, traditionally a stronghold of the opposition.
“This region is ripe for transformation,” he remarked. “By engaging sincerely with local concerns and delivering on our promises, we will earn the trust of communities here.”
Looking ahead to 2028, Dr Bawumia issued a rallying cry: “Let us all rise and rebuild together, for victory in 2028 is not a dream but a mission. We have the talent, the ideas and the resolve—now is the time to act.”
His speech concluded with a renewed commitment to a unified and forward-thinking campaign.
