Mustapha Gbande meets Greater Accra NDC Chairmen to chart party reorganisation
The Deputy General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mustapha Gbande, has held a strategic meeting with all constituency chairmen in the Greater Accra Region to deliberate on key issues ahead of the party’s forthcoming reorganisation exercise.
The meeting focused on strengthening coordination between the party and government, with discussions centred on fostering closer collaboration to enhance effective governance and consolidate the NDC’s grassroots structures.
According to Mr. Gbande, the engagement was aimed at reinforcing a strong, mutually beneficial relationship between the party and government, anchored on shared responsibility and collective effort.
He noted that participants reaffirmed their commitment to partnership and agreed on the need to build a solid foundation that would sustain the party’s growth and electoral fortunes.
The constituency chairmen and party leadership also pledged to uphold their core responsibilities as custodians of the NDC’s interests, values and the aspirations of its supporters.
Emphasis was placed on prioritising the welfare of the party above personal interests, emotional considerations or individual biases.
Mr. Gbande stressed that the reorganisation process and future party activities would be guided by the principles of competence, loyalty and commitment, which he described as essential to strengthening the party and positioning it to effectively support government policies and programmes.
The meeting forms part of ongoing efforts by the NDC leadership to energise its grassroots base and ensure unity, discipline, and focus as the party prepares for the next phase of its organisational and political activities.
