President John Dramani Mahama has assured Ghanaians their votes would never be in vain but rather will matter to his administration's decisions.

Speaking at a colourful inaugural ceremony at the Black Star Square, Accra, Tuesday, December 7, 2025, the president emphasised the importance of participatory governance, pledging to uphold the democratic principles that empower citizens to influence the nation's development.

President Mahama underlined his commitment to inclusivity and the welfare of all Ghanaians, regardless of their political affiliation, ethnic background, or social status.

He expressed belief his administration will move Ghana out of economic hardship for a better future to benefit all Ghanaians.

"This administration will listen to every Ghanaian, from the hustling streets of Accra to the serene villages of the country," he said.

He called on all Ghanaians to come onboard in unity despite opposing political affiliation.

President Mahama acknowledged the high economic stress in the country, but emphasised the importance of working together to overcome them.

"No single leader or political party can achieve greatness alone; it takes the united effort of every Ghanaian," he said.

He further urged citizens to actively participate in the governance process, asserting their insights and feedback were crucial in shaping policies that reflect the true needs of the nation.

The president concluded his address with a heartfelt appeal for unity and resilience.

"Let us move forward as one people with a shared destiny, knowing that every effort, and every dream counts," he remarked.
