Apostle Prof. Ing. Kwadwo Safo, the founder and leader of the Kristo Asafo Mission, has launched two new cars to his Kantanka model at the 39th Kristo Asafo annual technology exhibition held in Accra on Sunday, 29 December 2019.
The cars are named Kantanka Okofo) and Kantanka Mo.
The Kantanka Okofo) is a four-wheel drive, designed for security purposes.
The car is meant for the security services, especially the police.
The audience, who trooped into the exhibition centre to feed their curiosity on Apostle Safo’s new inventions, were amused when the Kantanka Mo drove in.
Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, who was the special guest at the event, lauded the achievements chalked by Apostle Kwadwo Safo.
Dr Bawumia reaffirmed the government of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's policy to make technical and vocational education a major component of Ghana’s education curriculum and ensure the re-engineering of technical and vocational education in the country.
He emphasised that the government is constructing 20 state-of-the-art TVET institutions in all regions. “There is also a $130 million project for the construction of training workshops for five polytechnics and technical universities together with 10 technical institutes in areas such as mechanical engineering, automobile engineering, civil engineering, welding engineering and others,” he said.
Dr Bawumia noted that the government has already announced in 2018 that the free SHS would also be extended to TVET institutions to make it affordable for students whose parents cannot afford the fees.
