The Gambia begins rollout process toward national ID system with capacity-building workshop
Efforts toward the successful implementation of The Gambia’s National Identification System have officially commenced with a targeted capacity-building workshop aimed at ensuring operational readiness and a smooth system rollout.
The workshop, held in The Gambia, brought together key stakeholders and operational teams central to the programme.
It marked a critical step in knowledge transfer, technical alignment, and implementation planning to support the delivery of a secure, reliable, and sustainable national ID system.
The training sessions were led by a team from Margins Group namely Mr. Asare Baiden, Acting Chief Project and Operations; Ms. De-Sylvia Boatemaa Asare, Acting Chief Operating Officer at IMS; and Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Adjei, Country Project Manager.
The facilitators provided hands-on guidance covering end-to-end identity management operations, system configuration, data integrity, security controls, and large-scale day-to-day execution.
Representatives of Margins Group said the engagement underscores a strong commitment to excellence, collaboration, and the development of robust digital identity ecosystems across Africa.
The National Identification System is expected to enhance service delivery, strengthen security, and support socio-economic development in The Gambia.
