Officials from the Ghanaian diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates have paid a morale-boosting visit to the camp of the Black Queens, the national women’s football team, ahead of the Pink Ladies Cup.

The delegation, which included Consular Officer Percy Okudzeto, Consul and Head of Chancery Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai, and Head of Transport Anas Shaibu, reassured the team of the Ghanaian government’s support and commitment to their safety and welfare during their stay.

During the visit, the officials interacted with players and team management, offering encouragement and urging the squad to remain focused on their tournament preparations despite concerns about unrest in parts of the UAE.

Speaking to the team, Percy Okudzeto emphasized that the Ghanaian government, through its diplomatic mission, is closely monitoring the situation and prioritizing the safety of the players.

“We want the team to stay calm and focus on the competition. The government and the embassy are doing everything possible to ensure your safety and well-being,” he said.

Abdul-Jalil Sigli Yakubu Abdulai reiterated the mission’s readiness to provide any assistance the team might require throughout the tournament.

The Black Queens’ leadership expressed appreciation for the timely visit, describing it as motivating and encouraging. With the backing of Ghana’s diplomatic officials, the team remains determined to represent the country proudly and deliver strong performances in the competition.
