Lawrence Ati-Zigi named Best Goalkeeper of the season in Swiss Super League

Lawrence Ati-Zigi, the talented goalkeeper for the Black Stars, has received the esteemed title of Best Goalkeeper of the Season in the 2022/23 Swiss Super League.
The 26-year-old shot-stopper, representing St. Gallen, secured this recognition after being voted as the top performer in his position by the Swiss Association of Football Players, which is affiliated with FIFPro in Switzerland.
Ati-Zigi's contributions have been instrumental for St. Gallen throughout the season. He impressively manned the goal in 30 league matches, successfully maintaining three clean sheets.
In these games, he faced a total of 146 shots, expertly saving 103 of them—making him the leader in saves within the league.
With a commendable save rate of 70 percent, he conceded 44 goals, resulting in an average of 1.5 goals conceded per game.
Having previously represented Red Bull Salzburg, Ati-Zigi exhibits remarkable skills, making an average of 3.5 saves per 90 minutes played. Notably, he was also honored as the Best Player in the Swiss Super League during the first half of the season.
Following Joseph Wollacott's injury before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Ati-Zigi assumed the position of Ghana's primary goalkeeper and has since excelled in the role.
