Lawyers representing Mr Courage Makafui Nunekpeku, Acting Managing Director of TDC Ghana Limited, have issued a formal notice to Media General—owners of TV3 and its affiliates—demanding a retraction and public apology over what they describe as a defamatory publication against their client.

In a letter signed by Samora Cann, Esq. of Machel Stanley Corporate & Commercial Lawyers, the legal team has given Media General a 72-hour ultimatum to retract the alleged defamatory content and issue an unqualified apology.

“Failure to comply with this demand within the stipulated time will leave us with no option but to seek redress in court,” the letter stated.

Details of the specific publication or broadcast in question relate to the allegations stemming from a legal suit filed by a homeowner, Derrick Hope Gidzi, who claims that the TDC boss unlawfully seized his property in Community 25 for private development with the support of armed military personnel.

According to court documents filed at the High Court in Tema, Mr. Gidzi is seeking an interlocutory injunction to prevent further development or sale of the disputed land.

H alleges that he legally acquired Plots 3 and 4 HOS in Community 25 from TDC over ten years ago, well before Mr. Nunekpeku assumed office.

On June 21, 2025, the TDC MD allegedly entered the land with armed military men and began construction.

Despite his objections and confrontations, development has continued “day and night.”

The legal notice suggests that the claims made by the media house have significantly harmed the reputation of Mr. Nunekpeku in both his personal and professional capacities.
