OSP summons former GACL board chair over corruption probe

The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has directed Paul Adom-Otchere, former Board Chairman of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), to present himself for questioning in connection with an ongoing investigation into corruption.
The summons is part of a broader probe into a revenue assurance audit contract signed during his tenure at the state-owned aviation firm.
The OSP suspects possible irregularities and breaches of procurement procedures in the awarding of the deal.
Sources within the investigative body indicate that the audit agreement, which was aimed at enhancing financial transparency and accountability at GACL, may have involved elements of impropriety.
Mr. Adom-Otchere is expected to appear before the OSP in the coming days to assist with investigations.
The Office has so far remained tight-lipped on the specific details of the contract under scrutiny, but officials have reiterated their commitment to ensuring accountability in all public institutions.
Mr Adom-Otchere, host of the Good Evening Ghana show on Accra-based Metro TV, has reacted to the summons, claiming it is political witch-hunting.
