MP for Amenfi Central pushes for strategic opportunity for Ghana: partnering with UNIPROMET
In a move aimed at bolstering Ghana’s industrial growth and attracting credible international investment, Hon. Joana Gyan Cudjoe, Member of Parliament for Amenfi Central, has highlighted a promising partnership opportunity with UNIPROMET, a leading Serbian manufacturing firm.
During her recent visit to Serbia, Hon. Cudjoe engaged with UNIPROMET, one of Europe’s prominent exporters and a respected player in industrial manufacturing. Established in 1989, the company has earned a reputation for engineering excellence, innovation, and large-scale production.
UNIPROMET employs over 650 skilled professionals and operates two advanced manufacturing facilities located in Čačak and Kraljevo. Covering more than 60,000 square metres of production space on 220,000 square metres of industrial land, the company generates an annual turnover of approximately €102 million. Its products are exported to over 30 countries across Europe and beyond.
The company’s expertise spans several critical sectors, including:
Highway guardrails and road restraint systems
Traffic signs and infrastructure
Bridge safety barriers
Noise protection barriers
Steel structures and fabrication
Steel pipes and industrial steel products
Hot-dip galvanizing and corrosion protection
Metal processing
Solar panel mounting systems
Renewable energy infrastructure
Engineering, design, manufacturing, and project support
UNIPROMET’s manufacturing processes adhere to internationally recognized standards, including CE Certification, EN 1317, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, underscoring its commitment to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship.
For Ghana, this presents a unique opportunity to forge partnerships that could catalyze local manufacturing, enhance infrastructure development, facilitate technology transfer, and foster skills development. Potential benefits include strengthening Ghana’s steel fabrication capacity, advancing renewable energy infrastructure, creating jobs for Ghanaian youth, and attracting further industrial investments.
Hon. Cudjoe’s vision is to position Ghana as a strategic gateway for industrial investment into West Africa—working with reputable international companies that possess the capacity, experience, and technology to contribute significantly to the nation’s development.
This engagement with UNIPROMET aligns with Ghana’s broader development goals, emphasizing the importance of building meaningful partnerships that will accelerate infrastructure projects, bolster the manufacturing sector, and generate sustainable economic opportunities for future generations.
As Hon. Cudjoe states, “Ghana’s future will be shaped not only by our natural resources but also by the quality of the partnerships we build. Connecting Ghana with world-class industrial companies is essential for our growth and prosperity.”
The MP looks forward to ongoing discussions with stakeholders both within Ghana and abroad to explore collaboration opportunities that align with the country’s national development priorities.
Building Partnerships. Driving Investment. Supporting Ghana’s Industrial Growth.
