Kumasi Academy: 1975 alumni renovates 6-unit classroom block

The 1975 alumni of Kumasi Academy (KUMACA) have handed over a renovated six-unit classroom block to their alma mater.
The classroom block of the school located in Asokore Mampong in the Ashanti region had been dilapidated, rendering it unsuitable for academic activities.
As part of the 1975 year group's 50th-anniversary celebrations, they resolved to renovate the facility, investing GHS500,000 through contributions.
Mr Osei Acheampong, leader of the year group, encouraged other alumni to emulate their example, emphasising the importance of giving back to their alma mater.
For his part, Headmaster Samuel Kwame Gato commended the alumni for their efforts, noting that the renovation would greatly benefit the school.
He highlighted that this initiative was part of a larger effort, with other alumni groups contributing to projects such as a modern science laboratory, dining hall renovations, mono desks, and computer donations.
However, the school still required support, particularly for classroom furniture and road network improvements, he noted.
Headmaster Gato appealed to other groups to join hands in contributing to the school's success.
