Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony at Jubilee House, President Mahama acknowledged the rising cases of violent crime, cybercrime, and fraud in the country.
He stressed the crucial role of the police in maintaining law and order, urging IGP Yohonu to uphold integrity, discipline, and innovation in policing.
The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the welfare of police officers and providing the necessary resources to enhance law enforcement.
He also expressed gratitude to the immediate past IGP, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, for his service and called on all police personnel to support the new leadership.
In his response, IGP Yohonu pledged his commitment to the police service’s resetting agenda.
