NPP holds emergency national council meeting today

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced plans to convene an emergency National Council meeting today, Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Alisa Hotel, according to a statement issued by its General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong.
The focus of the meeting will revolve around recent developments within the party, notably the reshuffling of leadership positions in Parliament and the unveiling of the 2024 Bawumia Campaign Team.
Among the key topics expected to be discussed is the recent emergency meeting held between members of the majority caucus and President Nana Akufo-Addo. During this meeting, Majority Leader Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu tendered his resignation on Wednesday, February 21, with his Deputy, Alexander Afenyo-Markin, expected to assume his position.
