Deputy Education Minister welcomes Namibian delegation on educational exchange visit

The Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, warmly welcomed Namibia’s Ambassador to Ghana, Selma Ashipila-Musavyi, and her delegation during their study visit to Ghana.
The team from Namibia was in the country to draw lessons from Ghana’s experience in establishing a teaching regulatory body.
Dr. Apaak commended the delegation for engaging with key Ghanaian educational institutions, including the National Teaching Council (NTC), the Ghana Education Service, and the Presbyterian College of Education, to gather insights and best practices.
He encouraged them to share their observations, noting that visitors often identify blind spots that may be overlooked by insiders.
While applauding their interest in Ghana’s progress, the Deputy Minister stressed the importance of tailoring lessons to Namibia’s unique national context.
He emphasised that each country’s history, culture, and traditions influence the design of its education system, and therefore Namibia’s approach must reflect its own realities.
Dr. Apaak also highlighted the need for thorough documentation of the delegation’s findings, which he said would serve as a foundation for a carefully phased plan toward establishing Namibia’s teaching regulatory body.
He noted that a well-structured implementation strategy would be critical to ensuring long-term success.
Underscoring the central role of education, Dr. Apaak reminded the delegation that every professional sector is shaped by teachers, making investment in education one of the most powerful tools for national transformation.
In his concluding remarks, he extended warm greetings to Namibia’s political leadership and expressed appreciation to the people and government of Namibia for strengthening ties with Ghana.
He looked forward to deepening collaboration between the two countries in the field of education and beyond.
Dr. Apaak once again welcomed Mr. Chilal and his team, wished them a safe return journey, and expressed confidence that their visit would mark the beginning of a lasting partnership between Ghana and Namibia in advancing education across Africa.
