If you won’t sacrifice for Ghana, stay in the private sector – Mahama to incoming appointees
President-elect John Dramani Mahama has warned individuals seeking appointments in his incoming government, stating that only those prepared to work diligently and prioritise the nation’s progress will be considered.
Speaking on Thursday, 12 December, during a courtesy visit by the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, and his delegation, Mr Mahama highlighted the high expectations of Ghanaians and the need for his government to deliver effective and accountable leadership.
“Ghanaians are slow to react, but when they have had enough, they will punish you,” the President-elect warned.
He continued that: “I want to urge those aspiring to work with the new government that it will not be easy, nor will it be business as usual. It is going to require hard work.”
He further advised individuals unwilling to fully commit to serving the nation to reconsider their ambitions, saying:
“If you are not prepared to work hard and to sacrifice for Ghana, then you are better off remaining in the private sector,” the President-elect added.
