NDC urges supporters to stay calm as EC prepares to declare results
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on its supporters to remain patient and law-abiding as the country awaits the official declaration of the December 7 General Elections results by the Electoral Commission.
Addressing a press conference, the NDC’s Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, urged members of the party to exercise restraint and avoid actions that could tarnish the party’s image or disrupt public order.
“Exercise restraint in your celebrations. We must show that we are responsible citizens,” Gyamfi stated. “You cannot engage in vandalism, attacks, or looting state properties; these are against the law.
Ours is a law-abiding party.”
He expressed condolences to the families of supporters who have lost their lives during the election period and encouraged others to prioritize their safety.
“Please, stay alive to witness the swearing-in of John Dramani Mahama as president,” he pleaded.
“By 4:30 pm, John Dramani Mahama will be declared the winner.
Let’s all stay calm and focused.”
Gyamfi also assured party members that concerns surrounding certain parliamentary results were being thoroughly addressed.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to ensure fairness and transparency in constituencies like Okaikwei Central, Ablekuma North, and Nsawam-Adoagyiri.
The NDC Communication Officer reaffirmed the party’s commitment to monitoring the process and resolving outstanding issues related to the parliamentary results.
He encouraged supporters to remain vigilant but peaceful as the party works to safeguard the integrity of the election outcomes.
“This is a time for unity and discipline,” Gyamfi concluded, urging supporters to uphold the values of the party as they await the official results.
