Youth Dev't & Emp Minister-designate Opare-Addo signals openness to working with everyone despite political colours

Minister-designate for Youth Development & Empowerment George Opare-Addo has asserted his openness to working with everyone no matter their political affiliations and colours.
Affectionately called Pablo, the lawyer and politician belonging to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) explained what mattered most to him going into the Youth Development & Empowerment office was innovative and feasible ideas, and not partisan politics.
The NDC National Youth Organiser said he would resign at the right time from said post, and passionately emphasised his confidence in and passion for all the youth of Ghana, irrespective of party colours.
“I don’t care about your political party, give me a proposal that will create jobs for the youth and I’ll work with you,” he told the Parliamentary Appointments Committee during his vetting today, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
He noted agriculture and agribusiness held great promise for employment and economic empowerment for the youth, recognising, also, innovative initiatives had to be engaged to make said sectors attractive to the youth.
President John Mahama has separated the Youth ministry from the Sports ministry, creating a new Youth Development & Empowerment Ministry.
